Stowen were awarded this project by Siemens to remove 8 thruster motors, weighing 15T each, in the hull of the Seadrill owned vessel “Sevan Louisiana” in the Gulf of Mexico.

Our project management team had to come up with a strategic plan as it was ascertained additional lifting points would be required, which would enable the motors to be removed and rotated 90 degrees and set down to undergo mechanical maintenance.

Working to a tight schedule, Stowen complied a comprehensive engineering study and construction work pack including: Structural,  Lift plans, electrical, welding, mechanical disconnects and reinstatement.

The operation was completed on time with no incidents.
