Stowen was contracted to support the rig reactivation of the DS-09, a dynamically positioned drillship owned and operated by Valaris. The project involved a series of critical upgrades and refurbishments to ensure the rig met operational and safety standards before deployment.

Scope of Work

Stowen provided expert services consisting of 6 multi-skilled rig builders across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Diverter Valve Replacement – Removal and installation of a new diverter valve to maintain well control integrity.
  • Fingerboard Overhaul – Inspection, repair, and recertification to ensure optimal pipe management.
  • Riser Tensioner Wire Replacement – Safe and efficient replacement of tensioner cables to restore riser functionality.
  • Derrick Winch & Access Basket Maintenance – Systematic refurbishment to ensure safe personnel access and lifting operations.
